About Newbie Nest
Why Newbie Nest?
The inspiration for Newbie Nest came from Finland’s long tradition of giving baby boxes to all expectant families.
In Chicago, there is an enormous number of families who are living in transition: facing homelessness, living doubled-up with friends or family, living with domestic violence, etc. For families expecting a new child, a lack of resources can seem daunting.
We want to support these families by providing them with a Newbie Nest, to help keep their newest addition safe and healthy.
What's Included in a Newbie Nest?
Each Newbie Nest will be equipped with the necessities to help parents care for their babies for their first year (i.e. bottles, pacifiers, clothing, diapers, thermometer, etc.), but will most importantly include a safe, portable sleeping option to keep babies safe no matter the living arrangement.
